Ode to the Watermelon
Oh, watermelon, how I adore thee!
Thy beautiful shades of red and green,
thy sweet taste but zero calories.
Thou art the savior of a thirsty girl on a hot summer’s day.
With this bracelet I salute You, oh Watermelon!
Cherry quartz, czech glass and African hand painted bead. And what’s a bracelet without some earrings to match?

Midsummer
These are the surroundings in which I spent last weekend. Here is where I grew up and where my roots run deep. The view is from our sauna towards the river.

This weekend away, charging my batteries was essential in order for me to to stay sane until my summer holiday starts in three weeks’ time. Counting the days, counting the days… Here’s another view from the same spot. I just can’t get enough of these wild lupins! They had spread this year like never before.
This skirt was a bargain at Indiska’s sale. Indian cotton must be one of the greatest things in existence, so breathable and light and lovely it is.
By the way, Jes has opened her online store Junque Revival (with an opening contest too, so be sure to check it out!) and it is of course a fantabulous place. Just look at these beauties the girl creates with her bare hands!

Nymphs in the park
I made a Google picture search for the word “nymphs” recently and came across this delightful image. It led me to a most wonderful Flickr set of old Hollywood photos. I just had to share.
I hope all you fabulous bloggers out there are having as swell of a time as these lovely ladies here! And I hope that next time I’ll have some new jewellery to show. That would make me feel like dancing in the park!
Waiting for inspiration
I had sworn to myself that I would try to blog at least every 7-10 days but looks like these kind of things can't be decided. Summer is here and it's hard to stay put. I'm anxiously waiting for Midsummer weekend (23rd to 25th of this month), as we'll be taking a mini vacation in my hometown of Joensuu then. Getting together with my family, home cooking and sauna awaits, ah!

I've started a few jewellery projects but haven't finished or photographed anything yet. I'm restless, it's hard to concentrate and I'm not having any good enough ideas. I also ordered some materials from Fusionbeads and Fire Mountain Gems, which means that I'm not looking forward to my credit card bill. If anyone knows of an online beadstore in Europe that has a good selection, please let me know! I hate that I have to pay customs and huge shipping charges when ordering from the U.S.
Heads up!! The full program of the Flow06 festival in Helsinki is out! That weekend in August will be a fantastic way to end my four weeks of summer holidays this year. I already got my ticket today! Just can't miss it.
